Our Commitment
The CoDAIM workshop is committed to providing a harassment-free and inclusive experience for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or computing experience.
We do not tolerate harassment of workshop participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any workshop venue, including talks, poster sessions, social events, and online interactions.
Expected Behavior
All participants are expected to:
- Be respectful and considerate in speech and actions
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech
- Be mindful of surroundings and fellow participants
- Alert workshop organizers if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct
- Participate in an authentic and active way, contributing to the health and longevity of this community
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct
- Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or presentations
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior from any workshop participant, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the workshop organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the workshop without refund.
Reporting
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a workshop organizer as soon as possible:
All reports will be handled with discretion. In your report, please include:
- Your contact information
- Names (real, nicknames, or pseudonyms) of any individuals involved
- Your account of what occurred
- Any additional context or information
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all workshop venues—online and in-person—as well as in all one-on-one communications pertaining to workshop business. This code also applies to unacceptable behavior occurring outside the scope of workshop activities when such behavior has the potential to adversely affect the safety and well-being of workshop participants.
Acknowledgment
This Code of Conduct is adapted from community standards including the ACM Policy Against Harassment and similar codes used by academic conferences.
